Plug and Play at Colruyt Group

Clever design to reduce the total amount of materials used

When selecting technology, Colruyt Group decided to use plug to play systems that are adaptable and easy to assemble and disassemble.

All the group’s stores are renovated every twelve years, where maximum reuse of the materials present for the interior is a point of attention. Moreover, by incorporating smart design from the outset, reuse is a logical choice. It means that Colruyt Group can consciously reduce the total amount of materials it uses.

At the same time, the company is investigating the possibilities of reusing the building materials generated by the demolition of their buildings. Their ideal scenario is a materials passport that maximises the potential for reuse.

We’re also reflecting on the Colruyt Group’s ambition at the start of the Green Deal Circular Procurement.
