The smartphone revolution - Fairphone

Try to imagine that a smartphone brand can guarantee you that ├áll components are made and assembled by workers who are paid fairly for their work. Go one step further and imagine a smartphone manufacturer bringing to market a device that relieves consumers of the urge to always own the latest gadget on the market. ...
Fairphone is almost here. Fairphone is a company based in Amsterdam, Netherlands that aims to make fairer electronics. As the name suggests, the company started with a smartphone. While Fairphone cannot yet guarantee 100% that the entire production process is carried out by personnel who are treated fairly and equitably, they are already on the right track. And by making their smartphone "upgradable," they reduce the human desire to keep buying a new model, at least to some extent.
