Functional safety wear

Belconfect is an important link in the value chain and functional safety workwear, made in ethically correct production units (member of FairWearFoundation). We are also active in various sector related initiatives with focus on using sustainable materials, transparency in the supply chain, CO2 reduction and circular solutions.

Why is the product or service circular?

Sustainability is a continuous improvement of the harmony between economy, people and environment. Belconfect recently carried out a circularity scan in which actions for more circularity were identified on the basis of a raw material chain analysis. We hereby focus on the following aspects:

Which circular strategies are we applying?

  • Reduce total amount
    of materials:
Optimization of pattern use and reduction of cutting waste
  • Reduce amount of virgin inputs: In cooperation with our fabric suppliers, we offer a number of sustainable fabrics: based on recycled polyester (including "rPET" from PET bottles), Tencel® (made from natural wood cellulose and 100% biodegradable), fair trade organic cotton (our fabric supplier offers CO² compensation).
  • Extend the useful life: Offering a repair service in our own workshop in Dottenijs.
  • Maximise the reusability of a product or component: Ecodesign or design that allows the garment to be dismantled after use.
  • Maximise the reusability or recyclability
    of materials:
Offering end-of-life concepts such as Revitex®, Retex® and other similar circular initiatives. We only offer our customers Ökotex 100 certified fabrics. This is a guarantee that no harmful substances or chemicals have been used in the production of the fibers and cloth.

What are the advantages for buyers?

Belconfect offers project-based and standard safety workwear made from durable fabrics that reduce the impact on people and the environment. Together with our stakeholders (customers, fabric manufacturers, research centers and federations) we are looking for circular solutions through environmental analysis and synergy in the value chain. Buyers should benefit from our gained expertise and our ultimate wearers should feel comfortable in our sustainable garments - as well on the body as in the mind.
