Kinnarps Belux - The Better Effect

Workspace solutions

Brief description of services

Choosing Kinnarps is the start of a positive chain reaction, in which pure materials, inclusive design and responsible manufacturing result in high-quality products and a happier planet. We call it: THE BETTER EFFECT.

Why is the product or service circular?

Sustainability has to be simplified, so we started developing a circular business model. Our design strategy, which is now based on sustainability over the lifespan of the product, is an important tool here. We want to embed the circular mindset in every phase.

Which circular strategies are applied?

  • Reduce total amount of materials: In Re:fill material, dust residues are recycled or reused for new products. Barstool Patch is made from fabric waste from production.
  • Reduce amount of virgin inputs: The Capella mechanism contains recycled magnesium, among other things. Stervoet consists of recycled aluminium, and Re:Fill, our own material, is made from dust residues, melted fibres and recycled PET
  • Extend the useful life: Our tool is 'inclusive design'. Users can use the furniture for longer by adapting it to their own needs. Various parts of our products can also be easily replaced.
  • Maximise the reusability of a product or component: We can draw up an inventory of existing furniture, and decide which products can be reused in the new interior design. 96% of our residual material is intended for recycling or generating energy.
  • Maximise the reusability or recyclability of materials: We have 30% of our waste recycled. We also reduce packaging waste by transporting Kinnarps and Drabert products in blankets that we reuse.

What are the benefits for purchasers?

Attracting and keeping new employees is important. An inclusive work environment helps attract potential talent, boosts a company’s image, and is cost effective. Products can be repaired, last longer, and cost less in the long run.
