Steel facade-as-a-service

Brief description of services

Besides the aesthetic advantages (smooth, strong, and lets the maximum amount of daylight through), the steel facade-as-a-service provides, above all, solutions designed for the best performance. Smart circular solutions offer a win-win for everyone. The ODS service platform creates a tailor-made plan for each client.

Why is the product or service circular?

Jansen steel windows, doors and facades enjoy a good reputation in the world of architecture. Thanks to the reuse potential, strength and aesthetic properties of the steel, we’re often requested to work on iconic projects. Research shows that this durable character benefits the circular economy.

Which circular strategies are applied?

  • Reduce total amount of materials: Steel is three times as strong as aluminium. We can cover the same facade surface with less material. Besides being efficient in terms of material use, this also lets more daylight through (narrower profiles).
  • Reduce amount of virgin inputs: We build facades with waste steel or surplus production from others as a supporting structure.
  • Extend the useful life: We’re responsible for the maintenance and the promised performance, so we only use top-quality products. In this case, we purchase or rent steel Jansen windows, doors and facades.
  • Maximise the reusability of a product or component: Reuse has to be embedded in the product right from the design stage. If this is included in the design, even more return can be obtained from the building components. The facade elements can be reused in their entirety multiple times by different users. The service platform is responsible for installation and take-back, and can carry out upgrades if desired.

What are the benefits for purchasers?

Low TCO, relief of all concerns, and performance contracts. The facade can be used for heat recovery or electricity generation, but security is also guaranteed (fire, bullet and burglary resistant).
