Brief description of services
Stack-it is a circular cup concept with a closed loop. We start by making the product from waste raw materials. After use, the cups are sent to a fermenter, which turns them into biogas and compost. Stack-it is a 100% biological cycle, so the cherry on the cake of your CSR policy.
Why is the product or service circular?
Stack-it is a biological circular cup concept. We supply cups and associated items, and collect them after use. No trees are felled to make Stack-it cups, as they are fabricated from the residual waste generated by cane sugar extraction. After use, the cups are processed into biogas and compost.
Which circular strategies are applied?
- Reduce amount of virgin inputs: The cups are made from sugar cane waste with a biodegradable coating.
- Maximise the reusability or recyclability of material: The used coffee cups and biobased stirrers are collected in bio-waste bags in a Stack-it collection bin. These bags are collected by the waste processor, which in turns converts them entirely into biogas and compost.
