Circular work clothing for employees of the City

The City of Mechelen includes circularity in contract documents for work textiles

The City of Mechelen wants to promote the circularity of its employees’ work clothing. 

Circular criteria were included in the technical specifications of the new contract documents. For example, the use of recycled textile fibres was assigned a score. These criteria were worth a total of 5 points.

There ended up being 6 applicants, and the contract has now been awarded. In retrospect, the points awarded on circular criteria could have been somewhat higher.
