In 2017, Circular Flanders, in collaboration with The Shift, the Flemish Association of Cities and Municipalities, and Bond Beter Leefmilieu, established the Green Deal Circular Procurement (GDCP). Over the course of two years, more than 150 organizations committed to collectively procuring circular products or facilitating circular procurement projects. The GDCP aims to promote circular procurement and provide practical support to procurers transitioning to a circular economy. By collaborating and sharing knowledge, these organizations can have a greater impact and contribute to a more sustainable future.
Circular procurement is a powerful lever to stimulate the circular economy and accelerate the transition to sustainable consumption and production. It increases the demand for circular products and services and fosters innovation in this field. Collaboration between procurers and suppliers is essential to make the transition to a circular economy successful!
